Jeff Ball
Jeffery T. Ball is a senior vice president, infrastructure market principal, and member of the Board of Directors with Hanson Professional Services Inc. Hanson is a national, award-winning, employee-owned consulting firm providing engineering, planning and allied services. Established in 1954, the firm employs approximately 400 employees – including engineers, architects, planners, land acquisition specialists, surveyors and scientists – in 23 offices nationwide, offering services throughout the U.S. and abroad. The firm provides services from seven strategic markets: aviation; department of defense; energy and industry; government; infrastructure; railway; and telecommunications.
Mr. Ball joined Hanson as a civil/transportation engineer in 1991 and has successfully worked his way up to the company’s management team. His responsibilities include developing and implementing programs that will achieve profitable growth, mentoring employees, and creating and maintaining positive relationships with clients. His experience in regional transportation planning, corridor assessment and system design produces the broad diversity necessary for controversial projects with the potential for adverse impacts. He provides an insightful and independent assessment of all planning decisions made throughout the engineering process.
In 1999, Mr. Ball was named Young Engineer of the Year by the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. Then in 2006, he was named Outstanding Chapter Member by the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. In 2008, he also was recognized as one of the Forty Under 40 by the Springfield Business Journal, a notable distinction in the community.
Mr. Ball holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He is a graduate of “Leadership Springfield”, serves on the Downtown Springfield Incorporated Board of Trustees, is the immediate Past-Chair of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors, and is a board member of Ezra Ministries.
