Graduate Programs
The Department is one of the five departments in the College of Engineering and presently offers M.S. in Mining Engineering and Ph.D. in Engineering Science degrees.
Course offerings and research activities in graduate programs include rock mechanics and ground control, geological engineering, mineral and coal processing, surface and underground mining systems performance optimization, innovative mining systems, surface mine reclamation, in-situ mining, mine environment and ventilation, coal bed methane reservoir engineering, carbon dioxide sequestration, and coal combustion byproduct utilization and management.
