Online Industrial Managment And Applied Engineering
The Department of Technology is pleased to offer the convenience and flexibility to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management and Applied Engineering (IMAE) completely online. The online IMAE program is designed to prepare management-oriented technical professionals in the economic-enterprise system. IMAE graduates will be involved with:
- Designing and improving production processes.
- Designing and laying out work areas to optimize efficiency, enhance quality, and reduce cost.
- Managing a variety of manufacturing functions in the areas of: Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, project management, supply chain management, manufacturing processes, computer-aided manufacturing, industrial safety, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Curriculum requirements are broad-based to enable the graduate to obtain employment in a wide range of industries from manufacturing to service to healthcare.

If you already hold an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree, you may be eligible for the Capstone Option and complete your Bachelor’s degree within two academic years.

All courses in the program are delivered online by qualified instructors with industry experience in the content that is delivered. The program can be completed within 24 months, with courses offered in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
CURRICULUM AND COURSES
The online IMAE degree requires the standard 120 credit hours for a baccalaureate degree, including meeting University Core Curriculum requirements, which may be met though an approved Associate’s degree from an accredited community college.
This program offers continuous enrollment, so students may begin the program at any time. Part-time enrollment is available.
The cost for the online Industrial Management and Applied Engineering program is determined by SIU’s Off-Campus tuition and fee structure. Please refer to the Off-Campus Tuition and Fees Calculator for additional information. Some courses will require the purchase of additional software or other materials.

WHY OUR IMAE PROGRAM?
Our program is one of the longest-accredited programs in the U.S. by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE), and we are an approved training program for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of IL and MO.
Industrial Management and Applied Engineering positions are associated with production planning and scheduling, process design, quality control, methods analysis, safety, material and equipment procurement, facility planning, equipment design, job estimation, technical sales, maintenance supervision, and other production-related functions.
Graduates of our program have successful careers as quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, production managers, and project engineers, to name a few, in a wide variety of industries. A high percentage of our graduates find jobs within their field and go on to have successful careers, many attaining positions in middle or upper management.
