Power Systems
Location: Engr E-215
The Power Systems Lab is a large teaching lab that accomodates students specializing in power systems. The power systems equipment includes the Hampden electric machines and power electronics experimentation consoles for conducting experiments and demonstrations on ac and dc electric machines and transformers, as well as power electronic converters and drives. The lab facilities also include the LabVolt experimentation consoles used for small scale power system modeling and simulation.
Courses that utilize the lab for power systems:
- ECE 385L Electric Machines Lab
- ECE 482 Power Converter Design
- ECE 483 Electric Drive Systems
- ECE 484 Electric and Hybrid Vehicles
- ECE 487 Power Systems Analysis
- ECE 488 Power Systems Engineering
- ECE 489 Electric Power Distribution
