Dr. Garth V. Crosby received his BS degree in Electronics from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. He obtained his MS and PhD degrees from Florida International University in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, respectively. Dr. Crosby joined SIUC in the Spring of 2008. He has a joint appointment with the Computer Science Department. 

Dr. Crosby’s primary interests of research are wireless sensor networks, wireless body area networks, cyber(network) security, cyber-physical systems security and trust modeling. Additional research interest include online learning and active learning strategies. Teaching interests include network security, computer networks, communication systems, embedded systems and digital systems. He has served as a reviewer for several conferences, magazines and journals publications, including IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE Communications Magazine and the International Journal of Network Security (IJNS). He is a senior member of IEEE and an ABET program evaluator. He is currently an editor of the International Journal of Security and Networks (IJSN), Inderscience publisher. Additionally, he is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and Eta Kappa Nu.
