Christy Crites
Christy Crites graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering in 1992 and a MS in Civil Engineering in 1996. She has worked at Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. (CMT) since that time and lives in Springfield IL. CMT was founded in 1946 and now employs over 500 employees, including engineers, architects, planners, land acquisition specialists, environmental scientists, surveyors, in our 28 nationwide offices. The firm’s core business is focused on four major business areas: aviation, surface transportation, water resources and building site services.
Ms. Crites has spent her 29-year career working in the Water Resources arena designing piping, treatment plants, administering projects and managing the group in Springfield, IL. She is currently a Vice President and serving on the Board of Directors of CMT. She strives to build strong relationships with her clients, regulatory agencies, professional organizations and co-workers. Through her experience, Ms. Crites provides insight into all aspects of project delivery from planning, regulatory, design, construction, and state funding and grants.
Ms. Crites loves what she does and shares her passion for engineering with anyone who will listen. She is also passionate about SIU Carbondale and its sustained growth. Her foremost goal at this stage in life is to find ways to give back to her community and alma mater. She currently is a member of the College of Engineering, Computing, Technology, and Mathematics Advisory Board, College of Civil Engineering Advisory Board and Women’s Leadership Program. She is also active in giving back to her community working with organizations that help underserved children with learning and growing, Compass for Kids, as well as the local Animal Protective League.
