Bachelor's
Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree gain a well-rounded education in their choice of 8 different engineering specialties. Students receive the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a wide variety of career options. While some graduates go on to work in their chosen field, others successfully continue their studies at the graduate level.
Master's
Students who choose to study engineering at the master's level can select from 8 different degree programs. Classes are taught by leading researchers in their respective fields, and students learn and conduct their own research in state-of-the-art laboratories. Teaching or research assistantships and fellowships are available for qualified applicants.
Doctoral
Doctoral programs are offered in both Engineering Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering. Students work with closely with faculty to become outstanding scholars and teachers who will make significant contributions in the field of engineering. Teaching or research assistantships and fellowships are available for qualified applicants.
Concurrent
SIU Carbondale is one of the few institutions in the country to offer a concurrent degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Law. Interested students need a bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or a related field. The program can be tailored to focus on legal principles and policies involving the engineering profession.
