Mechanical engineers design and develop a wide variety of systems for conversion, transmission, and utilization of energy; for material processing and handling and packaging; for transportation; for environmental control; and for many other purposes for the benefit of humanity. Mechanical engineers play a significant role in a variety of assignments including planning and design, research and development, supervise on of installation and operation of complex systems, and management.
Our Mechanical Engineering and Energy Processes curriculum contains a broad foundation in mathematics and the basic and engineering sciences, followed by more concentrated study in energy and machine systems. We offer opportunities for our students to participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom including research, design competitions, service oriented projects, and leadership development activities. Our program enables students to draw ideas and work with people from all disciplines -- to become professionals who think critically, solve creatively, and act decisively.
