Dr. Jarlen Don is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Energy Processes (MEEP) Department at SIUC. His research interests are composite materials, friction materials, CVD coatings and infiltration, and oxidation protection of carbon-carbon composites. Over the years, he has received extensive funding from industry to create novel materials for applications in the aircraft and automotive brakes. He routinely consults for major companies in friction and brake industries and is often invited by companies to be on their think tank sessions. Dr. Don has authored/coauthored more than 40 papers and holds 7 U.S. patents.
