Shon Yates
With an impressive career spanning over two decades in the energy and utility sector, Shon has consistently excelled in key leadership roles. His expertise encompasses energy trading, procurement, supply chain management, mergers and acquisitions, project development, corporate strategy, and fuel supply and logistics. As a vital member of the Ardmore Roderick Executive Team, Shon plays a pivotal role in shaping the firm's strategic direction, with a special focus on driving national growth within the energy and utility sector.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Shon has dedicated over a decade to serving on non-profit boards, most recently holding a prominent position on the executive council of the Institute for Supply Management, demonstrating his dedication to furthering excellence in the field. Additionally, Shon is a highly esteemed board member of the BEAM Collaborative, an accelerator that passionately supports and empowers minority businesses in Pittsburgh.
His contributions were recently recognized when he received the MBE Advocate of the Year Award from the Eastern Minority Supplier Diversity Council, underscoring his impactful advocacy and support for minority-owned businesses. Shon is an honored Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., demonstrating his commitment to fostering a sense of community and service.
Shon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Operations Management from The Ohio State University. Further enhancing his leadership skills, he successfully completed an Executive Development Program at Harvard Business School.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Shon and his wife, Alexis, reside in the vibrant city of Chicago, sharing their home with their beloved pup, Ra.
